Privacy

This is a personal publication run by Kenneth Mak. This page explains what information may be processed when you visit it and how that changes if advertising is enabled in the future.

What this site does today

This site does not currently use a sign-in system, contact form, site analytics, or advertising code. If you email me, I receive the information you include in that message and use it only to read and reply to it.

Like most websites, the services that deliver and protect this site may process technical information such as your IP address, browser details, requested URL, and timestamps in server or security logs. I use this information only to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the site.

One article includes a privacy-enhanced YouTube embed. When you load or interact with that embed, YouTube/Google may process information under its own policies. Links to external sites, including social profiles and project websites, are governed by those sites' own privacy practices once you follow them.

If advertising is enabled

I may use Google AdSense or another advertising provider in the future. If advertising is enabled, Google and other third-party vendors may use cookies or similar technologies, web beacons, IP addresses, or other identifiers to serve, measure, and personalize ads where permitted.

Google explains this processing in How Google uses data when you use our partners' sites or apps. You can review or change Google's ad-personalization settings in My Ad Center.

Before serving personalized ads to visitors in the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland, I will configure an appropriate Google-certified consent management platform and the relevant regional privacy messages. A privacy policy is not a substitute for that consent process.

Changes to this page

If the site's data practices change materially, I will update this page to describe the change. You can contact me at [email protected] with a privacy question.
